I think, that you need to concern very closely to the person. To be convinced of the person, that the person does not deceive you. Belief can be different, it will already depend on you.

I reckon that you arrange for the said lady/person to visit you in your own country and DO NOT give them any hard cash or wired money until they arrive. Then you negotiate a proportion depending on their economic situation. Oh and remember you always need to see receipts.

Recently, a lady from Moscow visited a friend of mine charged him cash for the air ticket. He later discovered she was in the travel business and practically got the air ticket and visa for nothing. When she got back to Moscow, after having a lovely time, with two new designer outfits and bags, she sent him an email saying "What do you expect it's Russia!!!!"

Very funny, guys! The same thing I can say about everything in the world... for example: don't accept people close to your heart and they never hurt you, don't go along the road and car never bump you... etc. There is great Russian proverb: "If you are afraid wolves, don't go to the forest!"

There is also an American saying - "nothing ventured,nothing gained" You have to be vulnerable to hurt and rejection--or just stop the search completely.

1. Don't brag your credit card balance to her for a start :)

2. Don't offer to pay her trip (come to see her instead, and perhaps half a dozen other girls from the same city - at least you'll have an adventure for YOUR money, why pay for someone else's fun?)

3. Don't be buying her expensive gifts NEVER (even if she's a decent girl, and you marry her and all, do you want your wife to be expecting designer clothes every other week?!)

4. Don't act like a desperate crook - 'Oh, I need a woman and I need a woman now'. Although we all know that sense of urgency after we hit 30-40-50, the scammer reads it like 'I need you, I'll pay anything to get you, even if you're just a myth'

5. Overall, just don't be a total idiot :)))

People in general (not only beautiful women) take advantage of those who don't mind being taken advantage of. Check your Freudian books, I'm not a prof here, I think it's called Enabler?
