Google needs more info to verify that it’s you because Google wants to ensure the right person. If you entered the wrong login details, forget your password, changes your IP address, or try to log in to other devices. So If google needs verification then you should have one of the following things:
1. Recovery phone number
2. Recognized device
3. Recovery Email ID
4. Recovery question related to the same device
